Music
Barry Cleveland is a Los Angeles-based composer, guitarist, recordist, mixer, and remixer whose recordings have received critical acclaim. His seven albums showcase a range of styles from ambient to avant-rock, and he has worked with diverse artists including Richard Pinhas, Michael Manring, Harry Manx, Deborah Holland, Amy X Neuburg, and Kat Epple. He was also a member of the celebrated improvisational quintet Cloud Chamber, and has appeared on numerous recordings by other artists.
Barry’s compositions for picture have been featured on various Warner, CNN, and TMZ programs, most recently the Teen Titans Go cartoon show.










Writing
Barry served as an editor at Guitar Player magazine from 2002 to 2014, interviewing hundreds of artists—ranging from megastars to the comparatively obscure—and reviewing countless musical instruments and pro audio products. His 50 favorite Guitar Player interviews are listed here. Cleveland has also contributed to leading publications, including Tape Op, Recording, Premier Guitar, Electronic Musician, and Mix. His personal interview blog is titled The Lodge.
Barry also penned the cult-classic book Joe Meek’s Bold Techniques, contributed two chapters to Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin, and contributed 14 artist interviews to Stompbox: 100 Pedals of the World’s Greatest Guitarists.

Marketing
As the Line 6 Product Marketing Manager, Barry created and executed go-to-market strategies and crafted compelling content for numerous best-selling Line 6 products in collaboration with key stakeholders. Those products included:
As the Marketing Communications Manager for Yamaha Guitar Group, Barry drove the development of authentic and consistent brand voices for Line 6, Ampeg, and Yamaha in collaboration with key stakeholders. He also worked with cross-functional teams crafting successful marketing content for the following products:
Barry handled press relations in both positions, securing product reviews in top industry outlets. He also created and served as the editorial director of Model Citizens, the highly successful Line 6 blog, which reached more than 750,000 unique viewers under his direction.
